1981 – Land-Rover Series III

Land Rover Series I, II, and III have been produced since 1948 and were inspired by the Willys MB and Ford GPW.

It was the first mass-produced civilian vehicle with four-wheel drive, available with doors and a hard top.

Due to the post-war steel shortage and the surplus of aluminum, Land Rovers received aluminum alloy bodies that did not rust, favoring their longevity. In 1992, Land Rover stated that 70% of all vehicles they had built were still in use.

The Series III is the most common vehicle of all the series, with 440,000 units of this type built between 1971 and 1985.
