1970 – Datsun 1600 SSS

The Datsun 1600 SSS, produced between 1967 and 1972, was different from the Datsun Deluxe version; while the latter had only one carburetor and a standard engine head, the SSS featured two carburetors and a 'worked' engine head. It also had a tachometer and tinted windows with a bluish hue, as well as metallic paint, which was innovative at the time.
It came with a standard radio, cigarette lighter, and clock—all of which were considered novel and good equipment at the time.
It was often nicknamed the Japanese BMW.
