1949 – Citroën 15CV “Traction Avant”

In May 1934 André Citroën launched not just another model, but a benchmark in the automotive world that endures to this day.
The 7, the first of the 'Traction Avant' range, which is not the first car to have this type of transmission, but is the only one to present it in large series, has a monocoque body, independent front suspension, and front-wheel drive.
This technological advance made all existing competitors' models obsolete.
Developed by Engineer André Lefèbvre, a dissident from Renault, the front-wheel drive system finally achieved a more effective distribution of weight that provided surprising levels of interior space and road grip.
After all these years, most of the cars manufactured today are front-wheel drive and have a body made in a single piece.
Later, the 11 emerged, and at the end of 1938, the 15 appeared, which was produced until 1957.
