2000 – Mercedes-Benz S-320 (W220)

The Mercedes-Benz W220 was a top-of-the-line range produced as the fourth generation of the S-Class for the model years from 1998 to 2005.
In June 1995, the board of directors of Daimler-Benz AG approved Steve Mattin's final design 38 months ahead of production.
In March 1996, the engineers of the W220 program completed their work on mechanics, 29 months before production began in August 1998.
The exterior design of the W220 (especially the headlights) was inspired by the Mercedes-Benz F200 concept from late 1996.
Being an iconic vehicle for Mercedes worldwide, the S-Class widely popularized this style.
