Emile Mathis was a dealer in Strasbourg, for Fiat, De Dietrich, and Panhard-Levassor, among other brands.

The first car he directly represented was the Hermes (or Hermes – Simplex).

This car was designed by Emile Mathis and built by the young Bugatti.

The first Mathis car appeared in 1910 with 951cc, and after several years, with various types of engines, this model appeared in 1927. Later, the Mathis brand was bought by Citroën in 1954.

As a curiosity, this car entered our country through the Azores where it was a taxi, later it was sold to Beja for a driving school, then it was sold to Lisbon, and a few years later it became part of this collection.
